Northland Horticulture Growth Strategy
Northland is recognised as one of the prime areas of future growth for Horticulture by both regional and national Industry.
It is one of the major producers of GDP for the region, employing 1200 full time employees, with room for expansion and distinct competitive advantages.

Strategy
The aim of this project is to produce a study which identifies areas of horticulture production which are economic and suitable for future growth. The strategy revolves around producing three growth scenarios while taking into account and quantifying growth barriers such as reverse sensitivity, biosecurity, and water availability.

Vision & Goals
The first goals of this project are:
- To gather accurate regional information on which a growth strategy can be formed.
- To build relationships and improve information flows with the community at large and the regulatory authorities in particular.
It is envisaged that this project will be the first in a series of future collaborative projects.
