Mission Statement

To assist Northland businesses and communities to maximize and manage the sustainable economic benefits of increased visitor numbers through partnership

Destination Northland, the Regional Tourism Organisation, is responsible for marketing and promotion of the region, nationally and internationally, as a visitor destination through partnerships with industry and through cooperative and direct marketing and promotion.

DNL ensures that tourism's interests are promoted and considered at all levels in the regional environment and acts on Northland's behalf in national forums to promote Northland's tourism interests. For the local industry DNL facilitates tourism communications and information flows, creates marketing partnership opportunities for tourism operators and coordinates an events programme.

Its primary role is as a facilitator and planner, rather than as a funder and operator and its marketing role is strategic and generic rather than product specific, achieving outcomes for the benefit and promotion of the Northland destination and brand.
