Education 4 Enterprise shines on the national stage |

3 November, 2006EDUCATION : MEDIA RELEASES 2006The Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme held its National Awards Dinner at the Intercontinental Hotel in Wellington on Thursday night. Bream Bay students and directors of the company Study 4 Success, winner of the Northpower Award for Enterprise Education Excellence, represented Northland on the night . Danielle Duffield, director of Study 4 Success, received the Award for Top Entreprise Student in New Zealand. Danielle scored the top mark in New Zealand for the Young Enterprise Scheme Exam, of which 1729 students from around the country sat . Danielle said a highlight of the evening was sitting with his Excellency the Governor General, Anand Satyanand PCNZM, who graciously accepted one of her company's “Study for Success” CDs. YES is a real learning experience in which senior secondary school students form and register companies, become directors, and develop products and services which they market and sell. Enterprise Northland, through Education 4 Enterprise, provides support for the programme and the Enterprise coordinators in each school coordinating a number of activities throughout the year for students to participate in, helping to prepare them for each step of their business' life and adding to the students knowledge and experience. |
