Browsing: Northland Agricultural Research Library (NARL)
The original Pastoral Extension Project intended to capture pastoral research undertaken in Northland and make this information more accessible to stakeholders in the pastoral sector. The project was expanded in the final year (forming the Northland Agricultural Research Library or NARL project) to ensure both published and unpublished information was captured and a complete list of research produced. Key objectives of the project included: identifying and cataloguing published and unpublished information either in private ownership or archived at AgResearch (Final agricultural archive below), the creation of an index summarising the most applicable research which is searchable by keyword (NARL index below), creating technical summaries of research projects grouped by topics identified as key information needs by Northland farmers (research stocktakes available below), as well as creating less technical summaries of research grouped by topics identified as key information needs by Northland farmers (popular summaries available below).
This tool makes it easier for you to find and use pasture growth rate information from Northland. The tool also allows you to find growth rates which are most applicable to your farm by refining the list based on things like soil fertility, pasture species and soil type.
