The Northland Sustainable Business Club (NSBC) is an initiative by businesses for business.

As an overall vision, the club has been established to support its member's efforts to collaboratively explore, learn about and develop sustainable ethos and practices.

The club's definition of a sustainable business is one that is resilient - able to maintain its operations and prosper in an ever-changing world. We understand that in this context sustainability includes economical, social and environmental factors - as they are intrinsically linked to driving successful business and stakeholder outcomes.

The NSBC was launched by Enterprise Northland, in partnership with the Sustainable Business Network, in the latter part of 2008 and is currently providing a series of workshops in Northland. This represents an opportunity for businesses to: gain access to informed advice; build relationships; take advantage of opportunities; and extend leadership in sustainability.

Even though the idea behind the NSBC is not new, the club is a young venture. The expectations are that the club will grow in size and effect, that local ‘cells' will emerge in a self-organising manner, and grow into a integral part of Northland's endeavors towards a prosperous future.
