Export Year 2007 focused on increasing the nation's sustainable export base, through supporting both new and existing exporters and, aimed to increase our long term export performance.
A number of successful initiatives were carried out by Enterprise Northland, in partnership with the Northland Chamber of Commerce and BizNorth and all partners are keen to continue the momentum provided by Export Year 2007.
There are four broad areas for work:
- Raising business awareness of how critical exporting is to New Zealand 's prosperity, and encouraging higher export aspirations within businesses
- Building export capability so businesses are ready to tackle export markets
- Helping businesses identify and realise export opportunities
- Ensuring consistency and alignment of government policies and processes that affect exporters
